i'm looking for a clean nova to start a project cos i dont want to waste money fully modding and changing one thats not mint to start with.

I know that might be asking a bit much but there a a few things with mine that i would want to chanbge thats not worth doing.

But yeah loads of credit to those who have mint looking novas. Takes some doing or lots of look finding one!!

well if i wasn't in the U.S for the summer i could have sorted ya out with an Irish shell. as i have said in the past mint shells are easy come by there. the last 3 Novas i built were 1L shells in pristine condition. no rust what so ever.

thanks for the kinda offer.

Hopefully when my insurance money for my wrist comes through and i sell my car i will be able to afford a whole car not just a shell.

so if anyone has a mint Mk2 1.2 nova going soon let me know.

I love:

Andy Bishops 2.0L turbo
Rob Delicata's 100% mint GSI
Ian Holmes GTE
Martin Weavers SRI
Mark Beeson's 2.0L turbo
Karl Rowntree's Valver
Neil Robson's GTE Turbo
Lee Haslams 2.0L Turbo
Neil Robson's GSI
Rick Drapers 2.0L Turbo

There are many more, if ur car is along the lines of the above, then i will love it. Over the few years i've based my car on all these Novas, hopefully i'll be sitting beside a few of them at Trax this year if i have my car ready!

yep - have to agree with u on these 2 - although I am slightly biased - since I built them !!

Martins has been repainted since its grey days - now a bentley dark purple - looks really nice - should b at total VX day with both cars !!!

Bretts car is just simply amazing, i hear he's driving it on the road a bit more than usual now :D

I'm Dave (as my signature suggests - LOL)
You'll be pleased to know Bretts nova was re-MOT at work 2day (and passed) - so it should be at Total VX in 2 weeks time!!!!

I hope he brings it to Trax this year, as i'm in Northern Ireland its the only show i'll be getting to this year.

I was talking to him last year, he's a sound bloke..

You've done some amazing work to his car! I'll be pestering you for advice in the future..

They're are some damn cool Novas on here. Always loved the styling of them anyway, but ones such as CTunnicliffes that seem to emphasise it a brilliant. Also CPs cos of his mental, bonkers engine.

Might debate a rebuild onto a bare shell end of this year.
Nowt wrong with shelll except Sound deadening.

Hide the engine.

The best nova i've ever seen is Dans (djp_y2k).

Though i quite like mine too. Only coz i get to drive it every day. Though i picked it up from the bodyshop, and fucked one of the arches and chipped a load of paint already, doing boy racer shit. Thought i'd grown out of it by now. Bollocks. Gettin it re-done on friday i think.

Ian
04-06-03, 01:26 PM

Well I think the achievement of many people and their Novas is all the more remarkable cos Novas are knocking on a bit, were a bit crap as std and theres loads more problems to deal with and they generally take a lot more committment and skill to sort. When you look at modern equivalents so many are more or less std save with a body kit and wheels, and maybe a filter & a back box

If you look at the average Nova the list of mods to brakes, suspension, body work, engine and very commonly some kind of engine transplant is impressive. I'm not patting myself on the back cos I'm older with more experience and money - I'm talking of the younger people who turn out stunning cars as well as having to battle with the horendous cost of insurance etc etc

A car less ordinary :D

If I had to choose, my favourite would prolly still be Brett's. I remember having a good look round ( and under)it at Doncaster. Mainly its the attention to detail throughout that impressed me - most of us can only dream of sorting a car that well.

i'm sorry ian but i have loads of other stuff to do apart from my car.. iahe i don't have ??? to throw at it getting someone else to do it

i know exactly how i want it and if i had ??? to throw at it i'm sure a body shop could do it in 8 weeks or so

I agree :D BRavo Bravo

Nearly all cars i see, that are newer and modded have the old filter zaust only combo, with a nice seta wheels. Whereas many novas have lots done to em, cams, this n that. apart from mine, which is bog standard engine wise lol.

i agree with everyone. overall there is a very high standard considering it takes a bit of effort to have a car thats knocking on a bit looking so good.
whether the car is a mint standard or a crazy kitted one with bells hanging off it everyone has done well.
to pick one out of the hundreds i like would have to be Brett W's. it really is awesome

nova---chris

I suppose theres several tiers to choose from

Kitted/non - kitted
Egine sizes/
Money spent ect ect.

many different variemts i guess. which makes the nova world a good place. except for a certain few who r hellbent on just giving the rest a shite name.

My all time fav Nova belongs to someone on this very list, he doesn't post much but his Nova is awesome (Ok so he bought it preety much like that, but hey, it's still awesome!!).

I'm not going to say who it is, but he knows who he is.

Other top Novas off the top of my head:

Rob Delicata
Brett Warburton
Nick Caro
Karl Rowntree
Ian Storey (Old one)
That yellow one above
Keith Robinson
A16VTB
Maff Searles old yellow valver
Andy Bishops turbo
Niek's 1.6 16v on TB's

Nice 2 hear all the good comments about Bretts car on this post - I think attention to detail make a big difference to the finished product - Although it sometimes make the job take a little longer ( A lot longer on bretts car) the finished car will look a lot better and be easier to maintain

Most of Bretts nova is non standard, which is where the problems begin!!!
What u think will only take a few hours to do ended up taking days - simply due tho the fact that everthing had to be modified to fit !!

You'll be please 2 know it will be at PV2003 for u all to perv at - Me and brett should be close by - so don't b shy about asking us questions - I'll try my best to give u sensible answers !!

See U all at PV2003
