Does anyone know if a 1994 Asta 1.4i Auto came with the Hi-Torq engine, or C14SE?:thumb:

I'd a 95/6 one a while ago was a high torque manual if that's any help. Said hi torque on the v5 too iirc
Spotted an auto one for sale, and if C14SE it would make a nice conversion on the SR!

Don't get a hi torque one whatever you do..... Slowest thing ever and not to good on juice either. There's a c16se on eBay still, I think ,in an astra that's breaking. Been on for ages, I was for buying it before I decided to get an xe for mine.
Although if you do buy the astra there's a few bits and pieces I would buy off it , were you to break, for mine.

I'd have no interest in even looking at it if Hi-Torq, so was just checking what it had as I doubt the seller will be able to tell what it is over the phone!!lol

Give me 10 minutes and I'll see what I can find out in the Haynes manual mate.

Nope sorry,no info on engine years that I can see. Although when I insured a 1.4 one, after typing in the number plate it came up hi torq so if you get a quote on Quinn direct etc it should rule it out if you can get the reg of it..... That's about as helpful as I get unfortunately lol.
Thanks for that, might just have to make the trip to look at it tomorrow then! Don't have a reg on it, so can't do any checks unfortunately.
