Vectra B V6 estate be it an SRi or GSi, you will pick a ten year old one of those up for pennies, i sold mine (SRi on a T reg, rolling roaded @ 201bhp @ Mini Sport) for £620 with tax and test and a recent cambelt and waterpump!

I trust youve seen how stupid the road tax is on a V6 Signum lol.... Plus for £5K its going to be bit of a ****ter unless the prices have plummeted since August when we were looking around at estates.

Have to say the 130ps Derv Passat Estate isnt exactly sluggish for a barge

Get over this anti-diesel stuff, If you're after a decent, quick estate that won't break the bank then that it what you need really.

I vote E39 530d M Sport.

(How powerful are we talking here btw?)

SRi's are worth even less, would get my vote for a quick reliable motor tbh, i just didnt get on with my old one and needed a cav back in my life lol

after owning numerous cavs imo they seem dated compared to the vec, my gsi seems a lot more refined, or maybe im just getting old lol

E39 540i (v8) would be my favourite for 5000. My dad has one , goes very well and when drivin sensibly it will do 25-30 mpg all day long. Plus no diesel turbo/injector going wrong ness to worry about.

But those a4s are rather nice too.

Yawn, youre still upset about your cav getting pushed by a TD running less boost on your own backroads :p

Mk3 mondeo? ST220/ST200 bits will fit the 3.0 v6 o nes, and the 2.2 derv will remap to circa 200bhp with plenty of torque.

V70 T5?
