Alternators not working at the moment but was wondering if the amp is higher, does it mean the alternator is better for the car. As got a 1.4 sri but would it be better to put a 1.6gsi one on with a higher amp.

basically, a higher output alternator is only any use if you are running more electrical items & a bigger battery.... ie massive stereo, or rally spotlights

if everything else is std, then just fit a std one again.. its managed ok all these years.
