Not a lot left to do now mate, the car is going to get repainted, brake lines done, sort some shafts out, engine in, a little bit of interior left to fit and one or two patches need welding in.

Hoping to have it out by the end of January with a standard 1.6 16v in :).

I use her daily its the 2nd lump the first decided to snap a rocker arm. After i put the new lump in drove up the road the cambelt went bending one valve but its still going minus the bumper due to the snow!+ i need a new wing.................fender bender!!

i was having her set up for the mot so it would go trough the imissions! im still to go back for him to get as much as he can out off it and get a print out!! i didnt go back this year as i only really used it for pv and then it was off the road for the rest off the year i want a cam and a few other bits!! but in spring when the bad weather is gone as she only plays in summer lol ill probs go see what she's got lol

Gsi needs an engine, arches, bay strengthening and bit of welding on chassis leg/boot corner then will be painted . But will be done this year ! Maybe.

Gte will be donating it's badly fitted xe to the Gsi , and then either stored for when the Gsi is done ( :roll: ) Or possibly sold after christmas as it will need welding and painted too.

im trying to merge retro, classic and euro smooth all in one

its slammed to the cut in half bumper stops on gaz gold ultra low coillies with eccentric top mounts, zender front spiltter, fully shaved and smoothed engine bay with battery in boot, nova servo gone, all tanks ect gone, was planning on corsa servo were battery was but may go for a floor mounted servo to have even less in the bay. engine bay will be painted beige and rest of car brown, engine mounts have been chromed aswell as bonnet stay springs ect will also have the bonnet hinges chromed and may remove heater to gain even more space, inside i have brown sport front and rear door cards and will be fitting beige calibra leather. Fitted 2 new rear arch panels and exhaust cut out will be filled and exhaust tucked behind it.

thats the plan so far lol sorry its a long read. :thumb:

robbed its gearbox for the gsi after blowing 2 up lol, front crossmember and innerwings are now well gubbed, mega rebuild on this one too in the next year or so.

twas my first road legal car, i had many field cars before it, sadly koni suspension, youthfull driving and poor roads saw it die early, back then the daytona interior wasnt loved as most folk wanted gte or gsi stuff so it all want to the crusher, nothing was salvaged :(

I wouldnt be worried about that in all fairness, id be more bothered about the fact its still running the safety valve in the inlet, that will release at 13psi so youre gonna be running feck all boost lol


Get it swapped for a balnking plug and whack the boost up more:d

yes the bov workes ive got a pipe coming from the vacumm hose to the brake servo goin down under the washer bottle to a solinoid then a pipe coming from there to the bov i just need to wire a micro switch to the diesel pump so when i let the trottle off the arm touches the switch to open the solinoid spudly the saftey valve on mine was holdin 17psi on the old turbo but since ive replaced it with 1 of a 1.7tds astra its open at 15psi

Take it out and replace it with a blank, i did this on my old cav and i was happily seeing 20psi from it with no issues at all, peaks faster too:thumb:
