What are people these days doing to improve the visibility of there nova dials at night?
I fitted blue led's fading to red (on speedo and rev counter) to my sri clocks, they looked brilliant, but still a bit dim.
That was over 4 years ago, so wondering what people are doing now?
even todays led's might be good enough alone, pics would be excellent:thumb:
I am also interested, my standard bulbs are pooooo
Because of the way Nova dials light up, LEDs are pretty useless, even diffused ones.
Solution, fit cav dials lol

1. some of the std bulbs are probably blown
2. have a look in a decent bulb catalogue & there is a good chance of finding a higher power one that will fit

Mine had digi when i got it but dont real do it for me so got two sets sat in house and put sri ones back in...couldnt see the digis when sun light hit them
I have made a loom of around 30 white LEDs to wrap around each dial.. Looks better but still not great! I think you just have to put up with it.. or fit plasma dials (colours are ****e though)

Had a digi dash in my last nova sri, wasnt that keen on it.
Not a fan of cav/mk3 astra clocks in nova's either, want the std look, just improved.
Any pics balley77vaux?
Any pics of your current dials Gary?

I've tried all sorts of stuff. From 2.3w normal bulbs (normal factory bulbs are 1.2w), to wide angle white LED's, all to very little improvement :(
Last time I had the clocks in I did a bit of a bodge fit of some LED's in a strip and dotted them into any free space behind the clocks. That did give a better illumination but was very difficult to wire up.
I'm thinking about getting a properly flexible LED strip and wrap it round each dial but I got more important shizzle to sort out so I wont be trying this for a while lol
I didn't think they did plasma dials in Nova fitment.
What about using some EL wire round the dia faces...

SNAP ! lol
i dont mind the dials being quite dim, the plasmas in the link would annoy the **** out of me.
I have "super xenon high discharge 10k" white leds in mine, they are ok and brighter than std bulbs but arn't that great. Would like better.
Want a nice white light for the heater ones too but getting something good that shows in there is hard cause of the angle.
