pikey bolts for pikeys who feel the need to use wheels with bolt holes that dont match the PCD of the hub

Dangerous is what they are.

Bolts with a loose collar which allows wheels to fit a hub when the PCD doesn't match.

So how are they dangerous?

The heads can snap off them.

Ever seen the RX7 clip or Saxo clip on youtube were the wheels literally fall off when cornering?

IMHO, that is not my cuppa tea thanks> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67rX4I8Swfw

Where as this is pretty cool lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QvD1k8b7OU&NR=1

Nothing on the RX7 vid says its due to wobble bolts tho?

But nothing says it wasnt either.

Chances of having 20 lose wheel nuts? Annorexicly slim to none IMO lol

The way I see it is, if you had xxx flywheel an the mounting PCD from fly to crank didnt line up, you wouldnt use wobble bolts for that would you? So why use them as the only thing that attach's all four wheels to your car. I mean its not as if your wheels are thee only thing that keep a car on the road is it lol lol

So how are they dangerous?

put simply, very uneven clamping force, and the wheel can rotate in relation to the hub very slightly under acceleration , braking & going over bumps, so there is a good chance of failure.

if you have a set of rims that you want to fit to a nova, but the pcd is different, it really wouldn't be very difficult to get them redrilled & have steel inserts put in.

I've ran them (nuts) on my Volvo for over a year with no spigot rings and slightly short wheel studs and I'm still here.

That car gets a damn hard time too.

They're fine.

I think its pretty much the same crack as with spacers - don't buy cheap and/or crap ones.......

Almost every 5 stud vaux with aftermarket wheels uses them... must be really, really dangerous.

yep at my old work we used to fit wobble bolts that were made by mac guard who do the locking wheel nuts when anyone fitted aftermarket wheels

Perfectly safe PROVIDING you have the correct centre bore size or good quality spigot rings.

Correct CB is irrelevant to me also, as the rear drums have no raised centre for a spigot ring to locate. I am changing to correct 4x100 wheels as opposed to the 4x101.6 I currently run, as even though I have suffered no ill effects with the current setup I do agree it's not ideal.
