I translated that by the way lol Still some weren't detected lol lol

However, it never came to shoot, but it turned to Nissan and sold their Pulsar / Sunny under the name Holden Astra, which later gave way to the Toyota Corolla, which then was named Holden Nova."

Its a concept, hence some of the oddities.

Quids on it actually being a model rather than a "functional" car. That would explain why some of the lines look odd, I reckon the main body of the car is just a giant foam block. That would explain why the lines round the bonnet look weird, and lack of scuttle vents, and odd hubcaps

Thats due to the flash from the camera [edit] I tell a lie, looking at the pic on a decent monitor now (at home lol) its just the reflection on the back end.

Why would they bother remaking a concept of a car that would have already existed? Small cars like this would never have been developed in oz/nz as they were like america in the lates 70s/80s, they liked their big gas guzzling cruisers.
They would have just taken a corsa/nova from europe then messed around with some filler and made up some new bumpers and hubcaps, then released to the press to see what the consumer reaction was, which no doubt was pretty rubbish, hence there was never an official holden corsa/nova.

^ thats what I meant by the term concept, not that they'd designed the car from scratch

The Oil Crisis in '73 and rising emissions controls had pretty much killed the muscle car in the US by the mid-70s, so from that point and well into the early 80s, smaller, lightweight 4cylinder cars were being pushed onto the market, so a car of this style fits very well

australia has a long tradition of taking foreign car designs & tailoring them to suit their unique domestic requirements... google leyland australia & you'll see what i mean..

the holden concept is no worse than that mk3 nova concept car with all the smoothed bits....

Ironically it's now Vauxhall taking cars from Oz and sticking their own badges on them.

Thats a very good spot,

Shows theyve only half modified a european one as the opposite side still has the standard large rear quarter windows the saloons have as standard. They've modded the drivers side rear door to come down at angle, then kink half way down the pillar and drop vertically, where as the european verions have a constant angle pillar with no kink half way down.
