My Novas a boggo poverty model, and afew times now ive got out and left it with tis sidelights on (digi dashes dont light up like normal dashboards when your lights are on)

Any idea how i could wire in a buzzer? is it simpley pluging a relay in? or wil i need to run new wires?

Also, will any newer indictor relays fit into a Nova? just to get a better sounding click when the indicators are on?

Cheers chaps :thumb:

should be there if it's a mk2, likely the relay is dead, or you have a broken wire somewhere, does your interior light come on when you open the door?

Yeahh, the pin switches in the door shuts are a tad sticky, but the buzzers never ever worked, even when the interior light on due to the doors being open, still nothing :( :(

Hopefully ill stick a relay/buzzer in there, and itll make noises :d :thumb:

Get one from a Mk3 Astra, its a better doorbell-on-acid noise as opposed to the crappy secondary school D&T lesson buzzer noise

I didn't realise you were in your 30's too.

I've never heard a buzzer going off in any Nova when the lights are left on, was it only a select few that did this or have I read this thread wrong?

My mk2 J reg SR had a buzzer too, something I miss on my mk1 tbh.

I think it was CDT for one year whilst I was at secondary school, then it became D&T. Clearly we weren't "crafty" enough lol

FTR, my Mk2 had a buzzer (merit) but none of my Mk1's have had them. Haven't even had the loom for it.

Another option, so your headlanterns are not on when your ignition is off is to do a wiring tweak, and run your headlight feed through a couple of 30A relays (one for left, one for right) and have those relays engergised by the ignition. Thus, turn off the ignition, your lights are off and your battery isn't flat.

It's how my T5 works.

Then you don't get a squeaky pain in the ar*e bleeper if you leave your lanterns a glowin' when you turn off the ign and get out.
