Ok so its simple the keys to the calibre have been lost the doors are open but how do i go about replacing the ignition key barrel?. I no how to remove them with a key but how do i replace the lock without one :confused:

Usually it entails a drill and lots of swearing to drill the barrel out, you could remove the entire column and swap it for another one or remove the ignition by drilling the shear bolt of and going back to the drill and swearing option, that as far as i can think is going to be the only way(s) of doing it!

^^That's about the size of it..

Without the key, you need to drill and hack out the the old barrel:(

Just out of interest did you mean a Cav mk2 Calibre or a POS Calibra?

drill, get a new set of drill bits and work your way up. not bad, its only soft metal

Key numbers sometimes found their way onto various locks throughout the cars..

Glovebox locks, ignition barrels(!) and sometimes door lock barrels...

Ahh well there you go, leave the ignition barrel where it is and pull the engine out in favour of a nova, problem solved lol

If and only if vauxhall uk have the masters still on file which after nearly twenty years i really doubt they would, i work for a renault mainstealers and after about seven to ten years they no longer keep the masters:(

12 years ago!

Probably a long shot with ordering a key from the. dealer but unless you try...

What's the going rate for a lock set from a breaker/ebay these days?

I am not sure how much for the lock set ? i may just try the dealers?
