Just because they have the lowest engine sizes doesnt always mean they're the cheapest. A 1.2 8v corsa for example maybe cheaper, or even a crappy spec 1.4.

So true, iam nearly as much to insure the nova as iam the vxr, its all down to how safe the car is acording to the insurance companies, ie number of safety features airbags abs etc.

Also how many claims the company has had due to that particular model.

You won't want it, but I bet the first of these are cheap to insure with the smallest engine available.

You might find a Corsa is cheaper if repair costs are high. Its based on a Suzuki which would prob be higher

wont a tigra be classed as a "sporty" car so it will be higher. wouldnt suprise me!

and you dont have to stick to vauxhalls!
and what about a moped, they are cheap when your young!

True, but the theft risk is almost in minus figures. Lol

The want factor certainly is!

Like a filing cabinet on a skateboard IMO! The worst looking vehicles on our roads are those mini mpv things.

i think 1.2 8v carb nova or corsa is the way to go.

does anyone no if the 1.3 8v engine is same insurance group as 1200?

I had a Tigra Bermuda 1.4 a couple of years ago..

Was grp 12 then..

I was paying approx £300 fully comp (would have been 41 yrs old at that time)..

In terms of Nova insurance groups, a 1.0 3dr hatch would be the cheapest. In practice, it varies as claim rates come into play - its not uncommon to see a 1.2 with a higher premium than a 1.3SR for example.

As for newer Vauxhalls, you'd be looking at the likes of a Corsa C or D, probably a 3cyl 1.0. But then the newer the car, the more it costs to buy (usually), so its whether or not you want to spend less on the car and more on insurance, or vice versa.
