looking at buying an Irish plate, and i'm amazed how cheap they are!
but i'm just wondering, are the fees stated on the site all i need to pay, or will i have to pay DVLA again to put it on my vehicle? :wtf:

Price breakdown

Seller's asking price (Including cash handling fee) £ 35.88

VRM Assured Transfer Administration Fee (Including VAT and Payment Protection) £ 33.00..more (http://javascript<b></b>:;)

Department of Transport transfer fee £ 80.00..more (http://javascript<b></b>:;)

Total Cost

£ 148.88

Cheap way to cover the age of any vehicle.

Lots of Land Rovers (and my local oil merchant) with OIL xxxxlol

Lewis.

thats what i want it for, to cover the age of my bike :) looks like the fees they show there include everything :) looking at 2 consecutive numbers (£40 each lol) for the bike and the landy :)

From where? I'd quite like one for the audi, but don't want to mega for it..

I know if we buy a reg from DVLA, we have to pay the £80 twice.

You can get round this if you know someone over here and have an address, and you'll get a reg for free!! (If you don't mind the letter/number combination)

Fail. Get it sold then. £1000 says you still have it in a years time.

Plate values aren't connected to desire.

OP, yeah that's everything included mate. What's the plate?

L14MNP
30-11-10, 04:28 PM
Where did you get the valuation Bubba? I have no intention of selling mine, would be nice to see if it's gone up any though. All of the ones like mine were gone when I last looked over a year ago.

lol @ what I just found on Google. Some kid on a Corsa forum

................the ones i would have gone for:

L1 AM
L1 AMC
L14 MC
L14 M

are all gone. they probably would have cost a fair few bob as well!................

£250 all in was what I gave in '03. They did shoot up a fair bit after that though. I am curious now, but I hate those email valuations.

I get regtransfer texts too. I was offered WA11 TES (surname is Waites) the other day. I wonder how much it is. The old man is interested too.

30-11-10, 04:52 PM
how is L14M NP your initials then? lol

L14MNP
30-11-10, 04:57 PM
Think what make/model car it is on...

Plus I have no middle name douche =P

It was always intended to stand for Nissan Power, when I get my uber rare L plate 32 GTR lol

MK999
30-11-10, 04:59 PM
Well you'll be glad to know your reg plate is one of the many that have to be explained then lol fail :p

Wanna swap a surname?

L14MNP
30-11-10, 05:05 PM
lol @ swap. It wouldn't really need explaining had I spaced it naughty (as was the standard custom pre-ANPR tech) or if you knew my name was Liam.

Then add the fact that said Nissan had just raped you, it doesn't even matter if you know the significance of the last two letters.

D34CON? lol

I'm still waiting for that magical H340INGTON plate to come up, never seems to be for sale!

Jack
30-11-10, 05:09 PM
lol

There's two plates I "want", both are cheap and car-related, but tbh I cba to spend £350 or whatever they cost nowadays to get them

RUS7Y P13C3 0F SH17 7H47 JU57 P1553D 4LL 0V3R UR 1MPR324 would look good on the Nova though I admit.

lol @ the private plate hate. I think it's safe to say RJ knows the score, but I reckon MK is the type to try and put a newer plate on his car.

Duhhhhhhh lol

I still may designate EFR 8Y to old Rusty Dusty. Suffix FTW.

Stuart
30-11-10, 05:14 PM
I was going to get R4PEY but it had sold/been removed when I went to buy it lol.

Mind you I'm glad I didnt as there is a douchebag with a DC5 round here with R44APE as his plate and it just looks shoite.

I got a plate "worth" £1.2K with the vx when I purchased it.... 5 year son its still 'for sale' and actually I've let it lapse on retention as I CBA to pay the fees when I cant even get £80 for it lol

I put any old plate on my car, newer, older, whatever, long as it registers ok on the ANPR when I get petrol I don't care.

thats a bargain, handy for hiding the age of a vehicle as already said

i nearly had my dads reg 'K55 MPD' on the vectra when he was selling the car, he only had that as my mums beemer has 'K5 MPD'

he once suggested i get 'K555 MPD' - my reply of 'but then people would think im lieing when i say im not related to you pair' didnt go down to well

Not much on offer for HAY, but fees are included, quote from DVLA site

All prices include VAT and the £80 assignment fee so there's nothing else to pay. From £250;)

Calling someone a douchbag whose car you've probably seen a few times, but done nothing about it in person, only expressing your dislike for them because of their number plate on an online forum is fine but me coming on here to ask him to call me a douchbag in person makes ME the internet warrior?

Nice logic there.

Stuart
21-12-10, 02:06 PM
should I have left a note on your windscreen when I saw it in a carpark then? would that have been a better way to do it lol

dc5
21-12-10, 02:14 PM
A note would have been very touching!

A pint with you to insult me? Interesting proposition. Although the provocation might not be overly sensible seeing as you have a child to support.

Stay safe Mr. Lindborg.
