Hi guys had a quick look around but cant find what I want so basically I want to know is there a way of changing the heater matrix in a mk2 without removing the dash? If so how? As the whether has turned too cold for me to bear now this has shot up my to do list. Any help appreciated.

You cna do it with the dash in mate you have to take the center console out to make it easier undo the bolts the hold the bottom of the heater tray on and undo the hoses under the bonnet the it should slide out with abit of fiddling mate.

Remove centre console then remove ashtray and surround. Then remove the 2 under dash trays and then undo the screws on the bottom of the heater box. Now in the engine bay undo and remove the two pipes going to the heater matrix at the bulk head. Once removed go back inside car and the matrix should now fall down. Replace in the reverse order and refill/bleed water system.
