We struggle with those Blackpool postcodes unfortunately, very high risk area for car insurance

Your postcode is a D rating, so expensive is to be expected unfortunately.

Only way to say if its "good" or "bad" would be to see what other vehicles would cost in comparison, or what other companies would charge for the Nova.

sky are very good though, worth giving them a try, i'm 24 with 1 years ncb, held my licence for 5 years, got a redtop corsa with suspension and wheels all declared and it was 700 for me for the year, spoke to them last week about renewal and they guy quoted around 380 :)

Its probably because it modified its more expensive than the standard cars you are putting in the comparison websites.

Also a more door would be cheaper as no-one in their right mind would steal one lol

I have an F rated postcode and no-one could get near Flux apart from Brentacre, maybe worth trying them.

Where do you get the info for the postcode rating mate?

I didnt find flux to bad to be honest. Nova xe all mods declared even the engine internals with a agreed value on the car. 3 points for speeding a theft claim (£7500) fully comp £650. But we will see what they come up with this year. :thumb:

Its the engine conversion, just because they know that not many companies will touch cars with engine conversions. My car (1.2) suspension exhaust alloys my renewal was 570, with the 1.6 it was 1450 (with admiral)
Managed to get it for just over 1200 with sky
Lesson learned, spend the extra buying a car with my desired engine in instead of putting it in my car lol

Google for insurance postcode ratings - the list has been posted around many a place. Its not exactly accurate but it does give a good indicative guide when comparing places which is likely to be more or less expensive.

Yep, as the insurance is an ongoing cost too, where as purchase price is a one off initial payment. Better to spend a grand extra on buying that GSi than have to insure the converted 1.2 at £1k extra each year!

the thing that winds me up is 1300 (and odd) for a std 1300 or an extra 200 ish for 700 cc more and a big turbo + loads more chance of me crashing it, it just doesnt make sence.
