With increasing age comes an appreciation of good times - you learn to stand back and take stock and realise that the little things can count towards having a good time.
Today was a good day - no hassle - just fell into place. In the AM off to Pod. Was lovely weather - met up with some of my top Novaload hombres and had the crack with them. Managed to get 4 runs in and get below the 15 secs barrier :D and then it was off home to take a marquee down followed by a swift pint with me top Pub hombres. Next call in at base, have some repast and then went with top youngest daughter hombre to see Matrix Reloaded - really good. 9.00pm saw me back down the pub for a chaser or 2.

cheers to chris T for inviting me along and sorry to the others for dashing off early without saying good bye. All in all :D

14.984 for me - had to leave early so was all still going on........ but when i left Breeny was trying to beat his 1st time of 13.89ish and Chris T was pretty close to 14 secs. Dunno the rest

Some guy from Holland decided to get off his bike at 140 mph :o so that fooked it all up for an hour or so - he wasnt badly injured thankfully.

The best Nova time of the day that I heard of was a 13.7 summink

Was a really good day, even from a spectators point of view.

I got loads of footage of Chris T, CP, Breeny and Will. There were a couple of other Novas as well. Pink RJ Automotive one, Grey 2.0Turbo with NOS (but wasn't running with the NOS) and "A 16V TB" (Another 2.0 turbo).

I also got some footage of a few American Muscle cars for my brother, but I'll upload them anyway, as you have to watch the videos, even if it's just for the noise of the burbling V8's :D

Breeny managed to get 13.7, which was bloody impressive since he's only been driving the car for a week or so.

Chris T was consistent with runs from 14.7 and eventually managed to get a run of 14.2

The only down side to the day was that im a little sore from sunburn and i think i caught a cold rom MC :x Ironic, on the hottest day of the year, I catch a cold :(

Anyway, I shall get the videos up onto the net some time next week.

I shall be bringing the camcorder to PV03, so I'll get some more video footage then :)

was a load of novas at the pod today (redline rumble thing) a yellow turbo was hitting 13's :o very quick !!

there was also a another "issac hunt" turbo there, looked a bit ruffed up, had stoopid wide front wheels and a massive intercooler sticking out the bumper, i did'nt get chance to see it go down the strip but it looked a quick motor.....(not the best of pics :( )

Yeah it is still in good Nick - had a chat with the bloke who owns it. He wasnt having any luck up the strip - mental wheelspin and a problem with 3rd gear apparently?

Wasn't being disrespectful at all.

I was stating for those that didn't attend which other Novas were at the strip and as far as I knew, it was another 2.0 Turbo. Didn't know it was the first 2.0 Turbo, but didn't mean anything bad by what I said.

lol yeh the new owner seems fairly sound, was telling me a few things about how Courteney have changed his car a little more. As Cp said he was having probs with gears i think :(

The silver Nova was a 2.0 16v with nos... he used the no2 to get the 13.7

Good time for your first go up the strip innit -wikkid :D Shud have left your bass box in tho - you could have turned it way up and used the sonic boom to blast you over the line

Hi peeps,

i was there from 3 till 5 but had to meet up with a few other peeps first and by the time i'd finished with them i had to go so didnt get chance to come over and say hi. badly wanted to run my car but considering the throttle cable is being held on by cable ties and masking tape didnt think it would be such a good idea!

Amazed by the pace of some of them cars - best i saw was a 13.9 @104 (i think) Nice to see a 300ZX get wasted by it at the same time!

I had the standard silver 1.4SR with the EVO sticker in back window.

Was a good day whens the next time we can do summat like this at the pod? hopefully will have my car sorted by then too....

when was that turbs built then, as I know of someone who built one around 1993, but it was a simple street sleeper and not publicised.......

The same guy had a 4x4 cossie Mk3 escort combi in 1991 :o
