Evening all

I have a set of Astra 16v ATE calipers with discs and pads. I know that the actual brakes bolt straight on. Will I need to upgrade the master cylinder or anything to get the best braking, and will the standard one in my 1.3 SR suffice for general driving for the time being?

Oh, got goodridge hoses with them too :)

Thanx

*IDEALLY* u want to change to a gte servo. (or gsi)

this dosent affect the quality of breaking, or the amount

just the amount you have to press on the pedal, bigger the servo and master cylinder = less effort to press.

not really worth it unless your a wimp

I just fitted these brakes to my 1.4SR an not fitted a GSi servo just yet but i will be soon but they work a hell of alot better then the old one!! i am well chuffed with them an one other thing make sure you put the calipers on the right sides with the Bleed Nipple at the top of the caliper!!!

u know i never even thought of that! but TRUST YOU!

are the servos easy to replace or do u have to drain everything?

servo is easy, as ong as u undo the right bolts lol. and unclip it from inside.
no bleeding etc required

ill have to look into that then

i assume its in the haynes?

is there really any benefit from changing this and the master cylinder?

tbh i wouldnt touch the master cylinder, you wont notice any diff and the conections r a rate b1tch to do.
dont need the haynes to swop servo its a bolt off/on job very easy.
u can either unbolt the master then the servo, or unbolt the master then the servo+its bracket, depends if u get another that comes with a bracket but there a standard size
