Iirc I fitted a set of digital clocks to one years ago a black D plate 1.8 with a strange fabric interior, the lad got it cheap because no-one believed it was real lol

I'm sure I've seem pictures of it and it was a three door, iirc the 16v had a unique chassis and there were a few difference to the rest

the 16v GTE has a slightly different shell to the other Mk2s (the rear exhaust hanger being one of the differences) and was definitely never made in 5 door guise

from my memory of the man over the road owning a few in the eighties, they did the mk2 5 door gte as a 1.8 & a 2.0 8v
