Anyone interested in a Tigra?

My local garage has just had a Tigra come in to them with a blown engine. They've dismantled the engine and the owner has decided it isn't worth repairing.

It's got MoT for a short while, an almost new suspension kit on it (Spax, Gmax or similar), a recent full exhaust system, and some nice 16" alloys wheels in graphite grey. And it has possibly the nastiest floor mats ever manufactured.......

The Tigra is silver, with no sunroof, and has a bit of rusting to the nearside rear wheel arch, the 'spat' piece is missing from the sideskirt on that side, and the passenger door has a few scrapes.

I've been asked if I can find a buyer for it, and obviously it will need trailering away.

It would make a great basis for an XE transplant, and would lend itself well to to a track day build. Or just a Winter project to re-fit a 1600cc 16v motor as a cheap run-around. Or break it for spares.

I'll go down there later and get some photos.

Any SERIOUS interest, please e-mail;

Timewasters out of the way, now is anyone properly interested in buying it, before it gets weighed in?

Now being broken for spares, but it won't be around for long before it gets scrapped.

If you need anything from it, e-mail now;

I dont know how much your taking off this Colin but i broke one a little while back and got nearly £100 for the wing mirrors, over £100 for the bonnet so it is worth stripping well.

Thanks for that Ben, I've tried to register for the Tigra Owners Club website, but they haven't sent me an authorisation code after nearly 2 weeks, and there's no valid e-mail address on there to contact them with.

Where did you advertise yours?

I've advertised it on MIGWEB (who just withdrew it), and Corsasport, but had no responses whatsoever.

I was hoping to avoid listing bits on EBAY, but looks like I may need to. Having said that there's plenty of bonnets on there, including brand new and genuine for £100!

cheers

Colin

The one i broke was exactly the same situation came in with ceased engine so we broke it, the whole car incl cat and weigh in value returned around £1200 which at the time was about the going rate for the tigra retail. I sold all the bits through ebay.

If the retail value of a Tigra was £1200 then, it must have been a fair while ago?

They seem to be selling for £500 or so these days.

suppose it was 2 years ago now! But then i paid £150 for it with blown engine, i could buy them then for £500 as well but as you know better than anyone colin just because you can buy some for that price does not mean thats the same everyone wants for it.

I paid £80 for a calibra turbo but i doubt i will ever get another!

Indeed.

£80 for a Calibra Turbo, now that's a result.

I once got a 16v Astra GTE for £50, so I've had my lucky touches as well!

I have a feeling the demand for Tigra parts is not what it was 2 years ago...........
