3 stripes FTW. Nothing else mind. Mowgli, that would be worth a good few bob in any 'vintage apparel' shop these days.

You'd do well to pull the stripes off now. lol

Was this a waterproof style jacket with exposable hood and a kind of painted on/crap transfer print thing for the stripes and treefoil etc?

I think I know the stuff you're referring to.

lol @ the medals of childhood honour.

limp, back in the day, the stripes were sewn on.. and they weren't trendy, they were simply the only thing available. i'm talking adidas track suits by the way... nothing at all was trendy in market bosworth in the early seventies....

Sounds more like 2 or 4 stripes.

They're sewn on now. You must have had a fair bit of patience to unpick those. lol

I know they weren't trendy, but even then they were the best on offer and have stood the test of time.

if you'd met mr heathcote, you'd have been scared..
he had a habit of trying to hit kids with a steel ruler, especially kevin, who had cystic fybrosis, he wore brown trousers, a brown shirt, a brown sweater, and a brown tie. when he took games, he also wore brown pumps & a brown wooly hat, no matter what the weather. he was the closest to a dinosaur that i've ever got to see.

We had a Science teacher "Mr Michalthwaite" at my first school like that but he always wore green, green cords pants and a green jumper with elbow and shoulder pads with green suede shoes, he always smelt of oldness , mainly of rustic polish for some bizzare.
