I have a bit of a problem in that the guy i brought the car off has fitted a C14se engine to the car but has left the carb set up.

Am i right in thinking the inlet port shape will be a cathedral shape and the head port will be oval?

Is there a easy way round sorting this or what are the options.

I am in the process of building a C14se to replace the current engine.

well, if it is a c14se head, just what carb manifold did he manage to fit to it?? i am assuming there will have been some gasket bodgery to make that fit ok..
easy option is simply to fit a complete c14se

if i fit another c14se engine i have the same problem?

I am not sure if i get what you mean.

I want to stick with the carb set up out of ease..

the c14se engine is a brilliant piece of work, when it has its injection setup on it, and it needs all of 3, yes 3 wires to make it work, and 2 others for the fault code light & the rev counter..... if is dead simple.

now, if it has a 1400 carb manifold on it, then your best bet is to find a 1200st or 1300s head for it, then the ports should match & the increase in compression will be an improvement too.

I think i will look into the 1300s head option

I have got all the inlet for the injection set up. Perhaps the best option is to get the current cylinder head off and see if he has alread done the 1300 mod?
