Wales Rally GB 2010.

Ventured into Wales at the crack of dawn yesterday for the last stages. Went to Margam park in the morning, then on to Resolven (what an awesome trek that was!!) then into Cardiff Bay for the closing ceremony.

Had a good day. First time spectating at a rally.

lol my mates Evo. Had great fun driving along the mountain roads to Resolven. We had to get in the rally theme and put our "graphics" on lol

Was a good day. Not sure i would go again. Not a spectator friendly sport IMO. But was good to go all the same.

Its a good craic going to rallies aint it, you usually find your first lot of pics are crap then as you get your timing worked out they get better as the day progresses lol

i watched a bit of it on dave last night, ive always fancied going to watch the welsh rally a mate and his mrs went to watch and said it was great.

ive always worried that id get lost from stage to stage. is everything easy to find etc?

Loeb won the championship a few events ago didn't he? I've not really kept up with it this year tbh.

Shame this years WRC season spells the end for the Citroen C4;s :(

All pretty well laid out. We ordered tickets in advance so you get a route planner.

Yeah spells the end for the C4's, Focus etc and the end of 2.0 engines. 1600 turbos for 2011.

Yeah will be interesting IMO. The mini is a prodrive effort I think, they did well with the scooby so be interesting to see how that pans out. Maybe some new drivers too??

prodrive were messing with subarus for years before they got them right....

the mini might shock the established teams on occasion, but the last of the imprezzas weren't exactly rocket ships, and prodrive haven't won much for a while..

Great pics, i went to the resolven stage about 7 years ago, was awesome but very very foggy.

i miss the old lombard RAC rally. when they had sunday stages in sutton park, trentham, clumber etc... they really had the spectators in those days..then kielder night stages that always took a few cars out. this re-doing stages & sticking in one area for 3 days really isn't in the spirit of the sport, its meant to be an endurance event, not a glorified sprint.

Exactly :thumb: Kielder was excellent for the rallying (still is). Been to Clumber a couple of times, watching Escorts cosworths, impreza's and Celica GT4's (god im showing my age)! lol. Much better in the older days!!!:d

my 4th year of going to the wales rally, and as always was great. did cardiff bay thursday, halfway up on the epynt military stages saturday viewed in the morninbg and in the dark and margam park on the sunday. only thing that lets them down is the marshalling is a bit strick sometimes as its so busy. great sport tho cant wait for next year with the new cars

I went to watch hafren stages as it's just up the road from me. 3rd or 4th year I've been and not sure If il bother next year. The cars are fast but I don't find it fun to watch. I'd prefer to watch clubman events where people are balls out in escorts, novas etc and struggling to hold them. Wrc seems to in "control" lol
