Hi i bought a nova 1.2i saloon today off a member on here. Its a great car but needs a bigger engine as the 1.2i and 4 speed dont really cut it. I dont have the money for a redtop and need it to be reliable. Im thinking a 1.8 or 2.0 8v cav lump. Over xmas i was going to look for a complete car so i have everything to do the conversion. I need to know exactly what i will need if i fit a 1.8 or 2.0 can i use the 1.2 drive shafts? Do i need to weld engine bay?

Is this the right choice of engine for abit more power and easy conversion?
Is the 2.0 out of a cav gls the same as a cav sri 2.0?

Also does anybody know a good garage or is there anyone on here that could do this conversion if i paid them.
THANKS SHAUN

An easy conversion would be considered 1.6 8v/16v as they use the same mount and shafts as your 1.2. The 1.8 2.0 are big block lumps requriing custom mounts and driveshafts.

The cavs are spi mate same as yours you be better off with a mpi out of the astra mk3 or nova the spis are not worth the hassle of fitting tbh.

dont put a v6 in it if you like going round corners correctly

smallblock 16v would be best imo

hactually, get a c25xe, fit an xe flat fly and f20 then weigh it. then weigh a stock c20xe and box. there is only 10kg difference.
