1600 oil sensor & oil temp pod guage

can i use the oil temp sensor that is normally used for an ecu on the back of a 1600 block, to connect it to a pod oil temp guage?

i looked at the plug on the 16sv loom i had

it has a solid brown

and a blue with red tracer.............
