ive rebuilt my engine but am getting very little compression an shed loads of back pressure tho the breather pipe so ive taken the rocker cover off and theres vapor comming out the oil gallerys ? ive had block honed new rings shimed an skimed valves re seated and can not start it now any ideas???

Have you fitted the rings properly? have you got low compression on all 4 cylinders? newly built engines do tend to breath a little bit untill they are run in especially if you are using thin oil.

seams to be on all 4 fitted rings as per haynes cant get it to start to bed it in using 15w/40 oil ??
