The only thing my car failed the MOT on the fact it had no horn..

So Ive got a horn now but can't figure out how it works.. The horn itself has 2 wires off it... Ive taken the steering wheel off and all I have is a black wire (Quite thick so probably an earth?)

Anyone wanna hazard a guess how it wires in? Does it need to go through a fuse? A wiring diagram would be useful

Cheers everyone :D

when u press the horn button it earths the lead going into it

if u connect 12v to horn and the GND from horn to horn button it should work fine

sounds like a standard wheel?

the black is ingtion live, and it earths through the hub, wo ehn u press the horn it gives a circuit, youll need to locate the black wire, beihimnd the steering wheel, cut it and seal off the loom, run the black wire into the engine bay, put it to the negative terminal of your horn, then the positive terminal wire to 12v + with a fuse really.

bingo

id try 2 find the wiring from the original horn cause that wud save alot of time.the horn is located(as ur looking in2 the engine bay at the bottom rite just under the fan, then trace the wire back 2 find the fault.

use the factory wiring!!! the wire should be down where the fan is/was
