Hi all does anyone know what gearbox comes with a c16xe engine. I have some codes but can't really find anything on the net.

Cheers

As will an F10 and F17 but Corsa GSi's don't come with one....

F10 wont technically fit due to the flywheel/clutch combo

and iirc the starter will hit the box

Lol great, soooo anyway of finding out what my box is? Ive found some stamps on the top but none of them are F numbers, but i don't think they would make it that easy.

if it is a standard corsa gsi, then it should be an f15cr box. the easy was to check is if there is a removeable plate under the bellhousing or not..

yes... f13
no ... f15

if you are after seals or gaskets for it, then the f13/f15/f17 boxes all use the same seals & gaskets

No, Not all F13's have the removable plate, No corsa ever came with them.

Some boxes dont have the F13/F15 stamped into them next to the selector rod, If they dont its just a case of pot luck as iirc there isnt a way of knowing.

but i'm pointing out that someone could easily have fitted an f13 box in its place... its been done before

and every f13 ive seen has the plate.

Maybe so, but it don't help the guy at all.

And just because You haven't seen a F13 with no inspection plate, don't mean they all have one.

This F13 came from a mk3 astra:

I have not seen a post 1993 car with a inspection plate on a smallblock, Which i figure is due to the pot flywheels that most have after that date.

The guy didn't ask what box it might have fitted if someone had changed it. He asked what box a Corsa GSI came with...

Oh and for humour, the F13 was fitted to the Agila and also certain Astra H models :tard: The F17 is listed against the new Astra J....suspect it's a bit different to the diesel Corsa C version though.

Sorry for the confusion guys, the engine I have in my Nova is a C16xe and the engine and box are currently out the car. So I though while its out I would change the Diff seals etc.

I’ve looked on the Box and it just has writing near the clutch lever. but no where else.

If the seals are all the same then that’s me sorted!

Cheers.

Does the number start with a 9? If it does I can check the part number just to be sure?
