Hello,
about may time this year i got hold of my first nova, the saloon.
a good mate of mine told me when you get a nova you get a bug, you want another...
so the chance came up about 2 weeks ago to swap a saxo VTS i had for a nova van, the old owner was local to me so i had seen the car around an about the last 18months..i know it was on PNG a few years ago when the work was done, its not changed alot since...it looks very much the same
this will probarbly take my mind off the loon so when i put the van on the road i'l be selling..
anyways here are afew pictures when i got her home, sorry for the phone pics.

Had it in the garage for new tyres an the hand break looking at.
when we were under there i notice on the drivers side it had been jacked up an looked to have gone through the floor we started poking at it....
http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae170/loonrogers/Photo0386.jpg
then looking in to it, the whole sill had split down where the spot welds would have held it togther. its not the best pic but you get the idea!

So what ya doing shelling or rebuilding mate?
MattBrown
15-08-11, 11:51 PM
That's me in the pic Peggy.
Shells goosed and will be weighed in.
However, needs an mot to remove number plate I've just though, so may have to sort that out.
Van panels cut out ready for the next shell, and it's been stripped to basically a bare shell ready for crushing.

This one, and it needs much much more:p

But when all's said and done, the decision to return it to nature or restore is only ever going to be upto the owners bank balance, or love of the vehicle in question.

Sack that for fun.
When a decent shell can be had for a few hundred quid, its just throwing the money away.
Each to their own.

bazils GSI Matt!!!
No offence to bazil, but all I have seen is loads of money thrown at pannels, and no progress.
Not saying he won't, but upto now he hasnt really done that much to the shell?
IMO when he starts, he will realise how big of an under taking it is, and scrap it.

So how you saving the plate if it's not mot'd now?? plates worth more then a caged shell, so would be good to sell and help on new build etc..
And I'm so so so sick of all this don't scrap nova's shell's (no dig at anyone in this thread) I'm just thinking back to when i scraped my old GSi, sorry but no way was i "re-building" that shell into a track car, it was well past it, plus it had sunroof etc, was easy choice for me, i made my money out of my GSi parts to buy my next shell and some extra parts, simple..
Yeah no one want to scrap there car, but it's not worth chucking money at a rotten shell to then re-shell in 3 years time as the rots back..
MattBrown

The plate is off it now scott:)
Sorted that before we cut it up:)
And Ignore them pal, full of dreamers with no money unfortunately.

you've hit the nail on the head there pal! its sometimes cheaper to re-shell then spend on panels, plus when the rot is in its hard to stop

ah right, fair enough. I thought it was just needing front and rear pannels and a tidy up in the bay.
