The 106 Gti's get rated very highly. Good hot hatch.

106 GTi's are nice with full leathers etc, no go though

306 GTi's are pants much better with the Si16v

for "comfort" you need a car with a longer wheel base than most small hatchbacks. i'd say a 306 gti (or even TD since they are as swift), Mk3 golf TD/gti, Astra of varying performance

all of them are comfortable.

for proper lazy comfort get an omega ;) all the toys and stuff for less than ?5K :)

306 td are shit slow... my 1.4sr wastes modded ones..... if u want a 306 get a gti-6

astra gsi are too heavy and overrated

the 2.0 hdi 306 is quite rapid but has common fuel pump problems as it's based on a tweeked petrol injection system or summant
also the 306 tdi has a common starter motor problem

the g/f has a 106 gti not a bad little car but forget it if you are tall

if you want to stay a vauxhall boy and want someting powerful then try a vectra super touring. my mates got one (http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=734) and they are so fast. only problem is there a 2.5 V6 but the earlier ones are 2.0L so insurance wouldn't be too hefty!!
thats what i want in a few years, after i make my baby nova a 2.0L 16v turbo, vauxhall wise unles vauxhall unleash someting with the same amount of power and the sweet looks.
fergie.

wait til the GSi Corsa comes out. You can make them look ok, despite the girly shape.
