i connect the rca leads to the correct ports, put new leads in, earthed it in different places, the amp has power but only a tiny bit of bass is coming through and you can only tell if you rest your hand on the sub, anyone help ?
Have you another sub or rca's you could try? Sounds to me like a rca problem if you have played with your amp to get best settings? take it the rca's are in the sub outlet on headunit?
Have you checked the settings on the side of the amp, gain and suchlike?

yeah bought all new leads this morning and put a new headunit in but only works through the rear speak sockets and not the sub ones

Check you have not got the bass remote switched to on. Done this before with my old fusion one lol
have you checked the settings on the headunit? some have seperate bass controls that allow you to turn the sub up and down, that could be turned down
as dan says check head unit
as my alpine got a sub woofer setting between 0-15

Checked the settings there's not alot to change, the sub works it just sounds like it is on half power , when you turn it up it sounds distorted but after a while it kicks in with full power and has alot more bass
id say crappy earth some where buddy

i agree. done this with my fusion one time, make sure your amp earth leads are getting good contact to the car body, i actually sanded the painty off in my boot were i had the earth lead bolted to the car...worked great.
if your bass is low then loud you might wana check all your connections and wires for your sub and amp are pluged in properly
good luck
id say its a dodgy earth, done this a few times, also never turn your amp up past half way,as they can over load,as got told off before for doing it,when i fitted them in one of my jobs
Do you have another amp you can try? Borrow one from a mate etc...
I had a similar problem with my old M605 - minimal bass unless the volume/power was set high then it was a bit intermittent - turned out the amp was goosed where some water had leaked into it, whoops lol
