Xbox 360 4GB / 250GB Review Anyone ?

Going out to buy an Xbox at some point next week.. the 250 GB one is all the same as the 4GB except the bigger hard drive as far as i can tell, and more expensive.. (and there's the chrome lip around it)

Anyone got the 4gb or the 250gb ?

Not a hardcore gamer and I only play a few games, C.O.D Black Ops, Kinect Adventures (when i get it with Kinect) GTA4, GRID and Forza and will most likely get a couple of others on Kinect. is 4GB going to be enough or am i going to be wanting to upgrade to 250gb or constantly deleting games to make space for more ?

I dont keep music on it, just game files. Also you can buy the memory stick things for more space, which are about £20 on ebay which will be cheaper than buying the 250GB console.

Do you think 4GB is enough for the games i play ? or will i fill it in no time.. and have they finally sorted out the problem of the red ring of rape ?

I could just go out and buy an old shape console and save about £100..
Which would you go for ?

ive got a 1st gen 360, no hdmi, but i got a 120gb HD for £30 on the bay, ive used 20gb, mainly due to all the addons ive got.

i got it free because someone punched it and dented the dvd player....its the first thing ive actually hit with a lump hammer and fixed it :d

Havnt heard about that. But i dont really keep track lol Like i said im not a hardcore gamer since i went through 4 xbox's that all got red rings. :wtf: PS3's arent cheap either and for live i'd want an Xbox so i can play friends instead of yanks. Dont think i should get an original xbox again though.

Guessing it'd be cheaper to just buy memory sticks / usb's then pay the excess amount of cash, its £250 for the 250gb or something like that, and £130 for kinect, or £250 for 4gb and kinect if i buy it before the 16th. A memory card cant be more than £130 !

doubt you'll fill 4gb with saved game data but they run noisy when playing games off the discs so is nice to save them on the hard drive.

I run it all off discs, might download a few games and store them but i'd rather own the game in a case and than as a file.
TV isnt HD either, thought about getting one but for the price it'd be 19 - 22" so dont think it'd be enough for Kinect

How much memory have you used with the games you've saved and game files ?

Ahh right, yeah disc drives get a bit noisy if it gets too much i'll do it. Pretty sure its cheaper to buy a memory stick/usb than buy the 250gb. When i had the old xbox i used it a lot and saved all my files on there, had downloaded games too and still didnt use 20gb which i think most the memory sticks are

it depends on what you play....my forza 3 file is 2.5GB, it depends if you download demos, trailers, map packs, addons etc

I delete demos once i've played them usually, dont get trailors but have most the call of duty maps and add ons. Do you know if the old memory sticks for the 1st gen console work with the new console ?

Just looked and they do a usb one and theres usb ports so dont see why they wont work, il check first though

Yeah thought about that cause i'd save a fair bit, but i've had 4 of the old xbox's and they've all red lighted and read a few reviews and the new console is meant to be sorted out for not getting errors. Trying to find out if you can put a 250gb hard drive on the 4gb

So you think if i play about 10 games, run them all off the discs, even when they're completed with 2/3 add ons etc i wont of used the 4gb ? I think it's enough for what i use it for.

Do you know if a finished game file uses more than a game save file you've just started ?

I've seen some and they're just normal usb sticks you put in your computer :confused: If the normal ones work i've got about 250gb.

Im gonna go for the 4GB, will do to start with and its not gonna be more than £100 to get the memory i need, buying the 250GB il get more than enough but it'll leave me broke for christmas

Theres a lot of info on the net but none of it's official so no way of telling if it's true or not without trying it.

I plugged an old USB with mp3's on it into my old xbox and you can run the tracks from it, not sure if it works the same with game files though
