I have just rebuilt the top end and timed her via no.1 piston to be top dead but it seems to be out of time. But:confused: if you give it some on the pedal it revs fine?
What engine is it mate? Are the Ht leads on the right plugs?

yes and in the haynes it sates to line it up with a pin on the bottom end i have two 1.4 sr bottom ends and they do not have them yet my mates 1300 (sr) grass tracker has?
have you moved the dizzy timing?
If you take the outer crank pulley off there should be an arrow on the toothed cog and a cutout on the oil pump the toothed crankshaft cog should point down at 6 and the camshaft should point up at 12.
Dont trust the outer pulley there never right ive found.
