went out to look at a 14sr at lunch, h reg quite tidy but had a really annoying rasp from about 3.5grand up to about 4.75 what is it an anyway of curing it?

wank exhaust system, maybe blowing near the manifold can cuase this to be worse

would sticking a new manifold an down pipe cure it?

its prbably the flexible joint - the gasket / cone shape thing is common to break it looked like lead when i took it off, new ones look like compressed steel wool, much better

suprising how noisy an engine is after a rebuild with no oil :x :oops:

I got a rasp noise from mine once, it was the heatsheild loose on the manifold....sounded like the manifold was blowing from inside the car.

mike - u rebuilt your engine and didnt add any oil :|
