We've got a Nova 2.0 redtop that's been stripped out ready for some trackday thrashing, but it has Uniroyal Rain tyres on the front. We've purchased a spare set of wheels from 'novarally' so are looking to get some nice dry weather tyres.

What tyres would you reccomend? We can budget to about £60 a tyre maximum, so we're not talking Toyo R888's unfortunately.

We've thought about Hankook RS2s and Federal RSRs but getting them is a right pain! Anyone used them?

They are 15" wheels by the way! :)

Cheers
Dan :)

I've used Ventus a few times in the past and found them to do the job..

The last ones I bought were about £90 each but I've seen a 15" Ventus range recently for under £60 a tyre.. :)

I don't think my favourite FK452s come in that size (oddly) so KU31s would get my vote. Holding up well on the Celica so far.

I don't really recommend my 195/60/R15 Firehawks. Unless you like levels of grip akin to gluing dead fish to your wheels? lol

I currently rate them on a par with my FK's... have yet to fully wear them in and give a good thrashing though

Looking at Yoko AD08's, £75 a go from Camskill, can just about stretch to that for what they are. Any reviews on them?

AD08's are great, lotus use them as an oem tyre now I believe. Melt in high heat though

I had them in 185 55 14, what is the exact size you're after? I'm guessing 195 45 15... They were alright in the dry, ok in the wet and gash in the wet once they reached -3mm. At about 36 quid a piece on camskill vs the 60-70 you need to pay for premium tyres, they aren't bad value and you won't mind hammering them on track. Maybe give some Toyo T1-Rs a go for similar reason to the above?

KU31s got slated against the likes of Michelin/Contis/Vredesteins/Pirellis/Yokos etc in Evos 150th issue FWD tyre test. You pays your money...

Gone for a pair of ad08s for the fronts, and Toyo t1r's for the rear, couldn't afford 4 yokos lol. Got a pair of yoko a539s on the rear already and the uniroyals for the wet. What a miss match lol

Dan :-)
