I'm after a set of 18" BBS LM's... not wanting to have to sell my self on the streets or sell a kidney I thought I'd check some reps out.

Is it a bad idea quality and strength wise?

Cheers Ben. You got real ones in the end didn't you?

They tend not to be as strong as the originals, end up with egg shapes and hair line cracks.

Quickly or after a fair bit of abuse?

A mate had bmw 19" M5 replicas and it was just the state of the roads that done them in, suppose its just your luck.

The roads round here are terrible so it wouldn't take long if they were bad copies

My Kazeras are effectively replicas of Rota GTR's. I doubt they're anywhere near the stregth/quality of the Rotas, but I've never had any problem with them in nigh on 3-4 years of usage.

I did bend the rim of one slightly on a mahoosive pothole last year, but this was fixed easily and the wheel is still round and perfectly balanced (or as well balanced as you can expect a wheel to be!)

Without tyres on ebay they're about £450, compared with the £4200 or so from our site sponsors. With the potholes around you could potentially damage a real one just like a rep... I know which I'd prefer

All bull**** IMO, its merely the same as buying cheapo halfords rims.
