Bought this old 70s red badge off fleabay a while back...I'm going for a black and red theme for JB.

Not great photos, but I got the **** spot on the drive today..

PS would the centre caps off bread-and-butter Mk1 Astras fit these steelies?

Don't think it's off a Mk1 Astra, think its off a Chevette or a Mk1 Cav. I'm slowly retro-fying it. Next on my list are the wheels. I don't know whether to buy some early Mk1 steels/SR steels with the traingular holes, or source some Mk1 Astra centre caps.

Yeah the paintwork - I bought an electric polisher from Halfords last week to see if the results would be better than my own elbow grease - which I think they are...it's smooth as glass and like a mirror! also draws attention away from the ropey front valance!

yeh i was thinking it had been machine polished, otherwise you would have arms like pop eye lol.
