the only reason i am asking is because there are alot more gsi bumpers around and they are generally in better nick than the gte ones i have seen. i do want to keep it mk1 but cant find a half decent bumper.
Look harder mate. GTE parts are far from rare. Don't worry about a few scratches etc as it can easily be repaired and will need matching to your paintwork anyway.

The amount of wanted threads would suggest otherwise TBH lol
Gsi bumper will look odd. Will have a gap.
Looks ok(ish) on RJ's as he has twin headlight conversion.

Yeah. The fitment is actually pretty good tbh!
I have to say the GSi bumper is SO much better than the GTE/SR to work with - there's lots more room behind it to get to the bracket, more room for the indicators/sidelights and wiring, the fitment along the wings is better, etc. I had to bash dents into the front panel to allow the indicators to fit with the SR front lol

Dont listen to all the people telling you not to do it be different and get bolting the GSI bumper on and make it fit
If there is a gap then just sort it out
I swapped my GSI front bumper for a full Mrk 1 snowplough and was glad I did because it looked so fresh and different from the norm so go for it lad :thumb:
It wont be easy but it can be done - Also try using your Mrk1 grill rather than cutting down a GSI grill

Am supose to be viewing one later on today with Ste_Nova but my mate also has a Nova shell sat on his driveway which he said I can buy off him if this one aint good enough
Mine is sat on the back of a trailor waiting for me to be well enough to go and strip everything off/out it that id put on/in it so I can transfer it all over onto me next Nova project then the shell will be going straight to the scrap yard

thats gotta be a modded bumper as there is no gap and they leave a good 2-3cm gap
i have 3 GTE bumpers...one has 4 holes drilled in it, one im in the process of flushing and one is pretty tatty...and i paid...erm, i think i was given them.
so not rare at all

There's loads of gte bumpers for sale, just buy one and be done with it. Will look so much better and be cheaper.

To stop the arguing. I know it's not a GSI bumper, but it will sit the same.
This is when I didn't have a front bumper when starting to restore my MK1, I just chucked a spare MK2 bumper on. Check the gap underneath the lights, as said, a GSI bumper will have this gap too.

and that answers your question do you wear xxxxxl underpants when you only have a little one? no cos they look too big and daft like a gay mk2 bumper on a mk1! dont do it dude its not how to roll

Still looks fine to me even with that little gap and yes it looks like a very little gap imo which to someone who didn't know any difference wouldn't even notice
So you going to stick the GSI bumper on your car or keep all the people who think it looks wrong , because it only comes on the Mrk 2 Nova , happy and not bother ?

Maybe the pictures don't do it justice, it's a huge fugly gap in real life. And to anyone looking at it, it just looks like your panels don't fit right.
it just looks like your panels don't fit right.
Its even worse than the normal Vauxhall tolerances lol
thanks for all the comments. i have always said i was going to keep it mk1 but just santed to see what others thourght. now i know. i do prefer the look of the mk2 bumper but it will be less hastle with fitting i will probably stick to mk1
