well im suspended from work lol ive been in a accident at work and went to hospital whiplash lol,they gave me some tablets and i failed a drugs test on opiates apparently heroin lol,
theyve sent it lab so ive been suspended till results come back, then i get back pay lol so im onto a winner as ive got my s1 finished and still going to get aid from work when it comes from the lab

well im back at work my tests came back clear no surprise lol,

and the s1 well where do i start,
mot, was going to fail on a bearing needing nipping up,headlight allignment,seatbelt rail loose,and steering rack boot pulled away and a handbrake clevis sticking,and the rear polybushes not clamping enough due to the centre sleeve needing cutting down

anyway i did all the work on the ramp while the mot was being done,hes brill my tester just tells me what draws the tools are in and lets me crack on though i did my apprenticeship there as a young'un lol


so after leaving with a full mot and a large grin i set off to tax it.nipped to ford in it as i have developed a driveshaft seal leak and i have ordered all correct wheel bolts for my wheels as im not 100% with them and think it could have more threads screwing into the hubs
and later in the evening i got towed home by a picasso came out chippy and nothing just spinning over so got her home went to pop bonnet and cable broke lol

tonight,
managed to get bonnet popped and cable sorted,now the running fault,i cleaned all the earths up and still nothing,replaced the edis unit controls spark and nothing so thought it see if the plug had come away on the crank sensor and noticed the bolt had vibrated out of it so new bolt all nipped up and were back in action.
currently set at 10psi but before it goes to art auto engineers for rolling road a week saturday i will pop it upto 15psi

well ive covered a whopping 200 mile in it already and only issues ive had is i ran out of fuel due to gauge wiring being wrong (efi tank) and the crank sensor bolt vibrating loose,

right where were we,
well i replaced the driveshaft seal and rethreaded my gearbox fill plug(well big trev did),
trev managed to remove my snapped wheel stud and i now have my new wheel studs fitted.
i rewired the cd player and now have sounds lol,
all gong well till i came back into the village and bang!!! clutch ratchet snapped so limped it home ffs!!!

£26 later i picked a new clutch cable and a genuine quadrant from ford!, after doing the mod to the quadrant i fitted it all tonight and now have a very light clutch well happy,
also i need to rewire the fuel sender as it constantly reads a quarter full, its booked in for saturday for a rolling road setup

maybe full zetec turbo on aftermarket management,i want to aim for above the 300 mark so in my eyes the only way is full zetec turbo or mk1 rs engine conversion maybe

i have a 1.8 zvh now which is a zetec bottom end to cvh head,a zetec turbo with upped boost and even on the management i have now should pull 300bhp easily with a cossy 4x4 turbo

been to art motor engineers for a setup,
started the day and tony started to investigate my low speed misfire,
i removed my rocker box cover and he dialled my cam vernier to tdc and checked my fuelling,all the fuelling was fine and he set my pressure and co pot,

after investigating it further tony suspected the throttle position sensor to be at fault,
he pottered into his cupboard and fetched me one he had lying around

cheers guys and yes it felt mega quick as i have uncovered that the gearbox is a close ratio and tops out at 120mph,i pulled away from a impreza wrx sti (private road) upto 110 then he reeled me in when i ran out of steam lol the look on his face was priceless,
this was at 22 psi in error
tony reset it to 16 psi and to be honest now hes dialled the vernier in and set the fuelling it feels smoother but not as quick but i know its safe so thats the main thing,
tony who rr tuned it laughed when i told him about the impreza he said he wasnt surprised as it was trying to spin on the rollers or clutch trying to give way either or!

i can honestly report lsd and a close ratio box with 258lbft torque is scary,imagine a mk7 escort/fiesta with worn bottom arms thats what it feels like under hard acceleration

overall chuffed to bits is an understatement,i cant wait to get it out to some meets and hopefully we can sort a meet up in the summer a large regional or the likes

well seems everybodys updated there thread bar me,
well not been upto much,
sorted a leaky driveshaft seal,
sorted my hot starting issue (new battery and new starter motor)
heatwrapped my new starter motor,
heatwrapped my downpipe
finished stripping the ghia i had for spares and weighed it in.
sorted my oil breathing issue#temp fix lucozade bottle lol
give it a little clean as you do,
turbo seals are just starting to pass,im hoping i can build another blower up out of my spares or rebuild this one will have to see,
another idea ive had is to heatwrap my tailpipe as ive seen it done a few times now and i think it looks smart

overall its going great,brakes bedded in all setup and running lovely and faultlessly though im sure the front bearings are goosed from being stood in a leaky wooden shed as they rumble and it does myhead in, also my drivers seat is broke ffs so big trev has donated me a old 90 spec for a frame to reframe mine
otherwise im not happy with the car in general as there is a lot of things that i think need addressing so will look into getting these bits done in winter ready for show season next year hopefully with more power but we will see what the next chapter holds!

well after a few more slight issues ie starter motor,and now needing a new alternator its pretty sweet,ive destroyed 2 turbos and now have purchased and fitted a stage 3 hybrid with a .4 exhaust housing and a 55 trim compressor wheel with 360 degree thrust bearing rather happy at the minute as its pulling even harder so i need to get it setup again but im reckoning approx 220 @ wheels (220@ wheels), also bought a 2 litre silvertop from the breakers to build my new base engine

well the s1 hasn't moved,I've fitted a new hybrid stage 3 turbo to it but the alternator has gave in :(, though other hand I've ordered a belt for the cab and dyed all the leather a d raised the tickover up, now to get it on the ramp and see what lies beneath

so basically, you will have an rs turbo with not one part of the original drivetrain in it....in an effort to create long lasting power....

it reinforces my views of 80's fords.... just like the bolts in my left knee do, especially on damp mornings, and my real problems putting names to faces & my occasional inability to remember normal everyday words.... one almighty crash in a mk3 5 door 1.6GL to thank for that....

The bonnet situation is so true! I worry about mine coming up, all of the time, but on a standard car, I don't want to fit extra catches.
I bet they give you loads of piece of mind.

On a car that suits them, aerocatches are much better than having to shell out for a new bonnet/scuttle/hinges/screen/roof skin and sunroof!
