New rear beam with disc conversion done... and anti roll bar hand brake cable and brake lines included

Small update lifted a 1600 8v engine from Simon

Took apart rear disc beam to remove the inner handbrake shoes as they are no longer needed rear mounts seem to be very nicely welded on so happy there stripped it totally clear so i can rub all the surface rust of it and paint it up...

Called to a mate who has changed his nova to Pilbeam arms ( i had his GSI front bumper towing cover which came off during an excursion into a drain during the sligo rally so i returned that and gained a set of strengthened front arms which i rubbed down and painted...

Thats about it for now really oh i was looking at the rear caplipers (origanally vectra b ) I take it to realease the pads you punch out the two horizontal pins???

engine spec is e16se 1.6 8v gte ported polished head and matched manifold
piper cam and vernier pulley stronger valve springs raised compression
lightened fly wheel arp rod bolts power flow 4 branch k&n air filter
also new rings and bearings

Small update....
Cleaned up the axle anthen sealed it up and gave it a lick of paint to tidy it up right

Got stud conversion kit for the rear hub test fitted them looks grand. I take it these are tightened in with a nice dolup of loctite red? or is there a better method??

Got a drivers door from dod to replace the one on the car as theres alot of rust along the bottom and lots of fibre glass and filler

Cut out all the unessesary parts of the inner door to reduce a little weight

Small update.... Assembled the back axle wanted to put it in the car to test and see if the coilovers that came with the shell were in working order...

Hmmm assembly very satisfying :biggrin: and even better the coilover seem to be ok plenty of resistance in them :thumbup::thumbup:

Ah ya 16v class is utter crazy..... plus 8v is so much simpler...
