Help...could anyone tell me how much my engine is worth, any response appreciated

Hi, the reason i am askin is because i would like to upgrade to a 2.0 8v, and when i do i would like to sell my current engine, but unfortunatly i dont know how much its worth and where is the best place to sell it,


It is a 1.3sr engine, recently rebuilt, it has kent ast1 cam and vernier pully, skimmed head, astra mk1 inlet manifold with 32/36 dgv weber carb, four branch manifold in good condition (sportex possibly) and mildly lightened flywheel....

you will most likely get into trouble with the powers that be for this thread.....

i'd say stick it on eBay & start it at 99p, a good running 1300 will soon sell for 150 ish if not more with the cam & carb, maybe 200, you'll probably get more if you sell the carb/manifold, cam & exhaust separately from the engine.

i have a few boxes and things left over from the top end gasket set, cambelt, waterpump, oil filter and possibly still have reciepts for some of the parts, unfortunatly i dont have the invoice from the machine shop from when i had the head skimmed. And as for the flywheel the only proof i can think of is that the recess in the back is deeper than the standard item hence only mildly lightened
