Can anyone help carn't seem to find the engine number on my block (it's not in the usual place where gearbox meets it!) any idea on where else they stamped it?
Thanks in advance :thumb:
Probabaly ground off then!
If your after an engine number to buy the correct parts a good guide is the cambelt cover shape as this will tell you whether its an early or late engine. Usually autovaux can supply the correct parts your after by knowing the above.

the early round tooth set up and late is squaretooth, the later squaretooth set up has a automatic tensioner and has a differant cambelt cover, it sticks out more on front of block as there a tensioner pulley.
