Rofl.....

ERRR why a metro turbo?

You Might as well convert a 1.2/1.4 to turbo if you wanted somthing like the metro.

There is nothing really that good about the metro turbo lump so might aswell make somthing that already good better.

Some good 1.6 turbo small blocks going around atm, You should think of that instead!

So you just want to use the turbo and not the whole engine?

If so why? you could use any turbo thats not the hard bit.

My Standard 1.3 SR could outdrag a Metro Turbo;) , just, I knopw as I've done it!! Many years ago, so why bother:roll:

Easier options for more pace, and stuck with a 4 speed boxlol

alexi think the guy means a metro turbo , turbo charger bolted to a 1 litre, if so, id go for something smaller, maybe a uint of a renault 5 gt turbo as its a t2, and the metro is a t3 , so would be a bit laggy, and as for all the stupid comments, dose this car ring a bell:roll: ????

ok so can what the best one to get ? and where would i get a manifold for it ?

right, let me clear this up.... the 1.0 ohv is crap... ok? the best thing you can do is get a 1.2 ohv from an astra mk1/2 as this will gain good useable hp...

you could turbo it, but you will have to make every single manifold & oil or air pipe from scratch, and then you'll need to lower the compression to save the engine from blowing up......

the colin smith one is a 1.2 sleeved down with small pistons, then a gte head & manifolds & really clever management. it is built for hill climbing so i can't imagine it would be much use as a daily driver..

back to the 1.0 ohv turbo.... it might make 80-90hp if you are lucky, so just get a 1.4

maris, that car has had the best part of 10k thrown at its motor and its not a 1.0 ohv pushrod p.o.s found in the usual 1.0 nova. an engine which dates back to the 1950's, and uses a 3 bearing crank. my mate grenaded 2 with just a rejetted weber and an exhaust. so comparing cols to that p.o.s is like comparing an amoeba to an elephant

and mega pmsl to pushrod engines are rubbish!.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vE7uEI6--I ive had over 15 renault 5 gt turbos, and the so called p.o.s pushrobs are fast, and are cheap to tune.

Easiest way is to turbo a 1.4 imo.Use a weber 32/34 carb and an xr2 turbo technics conversion.

I wasn't aware they ran 1.0 OHV vauxhall engines in those.
