Popped into AllParts today to get a thermostat for the LET.

The guy came back with 2 different parts both for the LET. One was 82deg and the other 92deg.

I was only expecting one stat for 92deg but never knew some came with 82 (I do know you can get cool running stats rated at 82 deg).

What's the best to go for?

The Cool running stats were used in hot countries, SA Spain etc IIRC, is actually a GM Part number on them. 82deg

The standard UK one was 92deg.

It is a matter of mixed opinion.

Benn swears by 92deg, i like 82deg....

I just found it wouldn't get out of the blue, so the heaters where always cold.

Mines runs like a dream with a 92deg(sits on a 1/4 all the time)

Well the way I look at it is that there must've been a reason for GM to run a 92deg one on them.

I've thought about 82deg ones but not sure if I'd go for one.

Tek id go with the 92deg one mate if its a daily but if its a track orientated one go for the 82deg one.

Same here mate. The Cav had a new stat recently and that warms up in less than 5 mins and alway and I mean always sits at the 90 mark whether it's driven hard or cruising.

Think I'll go for the 92deg one. Keep it how it's meant to be :)

Yeah deffo. You(paul) don't run a heater do you? So there's no worry there for you..

For now (well at least a couple years) it'll be a daily mate so want it to run fine. 92 it shall be :thumb:

I'm guessing the stat can be removed from the housing and replaced. Really don't wanna buy a new housing if it can.

No mine had no heater(no matrix), so extra coolingof the 82deg helped with mine

I know it's a piece of piss, made the mistake of buying a full stat and housing for my bro's car. Could have had the stat for £8 instead paid £21 for one with a housing :tard:
