it does remind me of a perkins 3pot tractor i saw (when i worked for an agric engineer) that ran, but a bit uneven... so head off, to find a jubilee clip on #2 big end to keep the oil pressure up & no piston or rod, and a blob of sealant in the top of the injector so it wouldn't piss diesel into the sump.....


so are the bits in the sump?

Presumably so, I've not taken the sump off yet for a nose around.
