Right long story short its not on a GM engine but will be trying to use the GM F28 box.

The output shaft ill be using is 22 splined & the motor uses a 245mm dia disc, whats the spec on a F28 clutch?

Gen me up please, 276 horsepowers are at stake!

Just realised due to hangover I got it round the wrong way lol. You need to use an F28 friction plate OR one that has the same spline pattern as the F28 that fits in the donor engines clutch.

So the info your after is the diameter of the doner car's friction plate compared to an F28 one. If they are the same, you just need to work out a way of connecting the engines.

mike, the stock f28 clutch is 9" (230mm) with a 14 spline input. so you might need to have a ring round a few clutch people to see if the spline size matches anything else, cos i can't imagine for a second that it is unique. getrag seem to use common parts a lot,

can't you just get the flywheel machined?

edit.. the 14 spline thing seems to be a big block gm thing.... the vectras, omegas etc all have the 230/240 mm 14 spline clutches have a poke about in the catalogue to see

Nah staying FWD for now, just a bit bored & fancy something non GM engined kinda thing.

Getting the pistons to build a 2.1 ZVH is a lot easier then trying to find suitables for a 2.3 Rob.

if my memory is correct, years back a bloke was rallying an rx7 with an xr4x4 transmission & apparently it was a fairly easy fit.... my point is that cos of the mazda/ford tie ins, maybe a 13b would fit to a decent ford fwd box.... but this is purely a theory that isn't backed up with any hard facts....

what is the reasoning for the f28? is this so it can go 4wd at a later date?

I was going to mount an F28 onto the Rotor motor as a 5 speeder would be shocking with the cack ratios compared to the Mazda box & also a FWD box is needed short of massive cutting & a custom prop for RWD shenanigans.

The 28 should take a lot of power easily (in theory). Bit looking at at 13B block a bellhousing for it would be a right basterd to get right as the Mazda block is tiny in width compared to a LET.

Although the CVH blocks are quite similier to the GM 8v's & the RS Turbo gearbox has a very rather good diff as standard compared to other FWD's of the era. So if i could use that gearbox that would be nioce. In theory.

ppc mag had a feature with a bloke running a mazda rotary in a mk2 escort, it was built near silverstone, and used a ford type box.... thus there must be an adaptor about to fit a ford.

Ok, didnt know that :d MTX75 box is out of a RS2000 aswell & there very very easy to get. Any gen of where I can get a bellhousing though?

Fck the SAAB motors, there not cool enough for council school anymore.

will have a search, but a mate of mine tells me its a us company....

holset hx35 is a truck spec turbo, on a saab motor good for 500-600bhp. :d

Just kinda realised, im very sure the 13B motor will end up rotating the wrong way round when setup for FWD.....

how? if it goes backwards compared to a gm engine, then get a honda box cos hondas turn the other way.

Alreay though of that but Honda box's are mahoooosively long though.

Also the bellhousing issue, very realistic chance ill have to settle for a Ford motor :S (makes things LOADS easier!)

Even so, finding a bellhousing for any box onto a 13B will be a mission! Ive had a quote come back for a custom made one at over £1450+vat :S
