Trying to fit my 20XE alternator in while the engine is bolted in place. It physically won't fit as it stands, so what's the best and easiest way?

Inlet off? Raise the engine? Any other clever ideas?

you might need to undo the bottom arm & move the driveshaft one way? i'm only guessing, but also isn't there room to feed it in from the lh side by the servo?

Did try up-from-underneath and it wedged against the rack and the inlet. Just managed to wiggle it up and in, having removed the alt bracket to make it easier too. Job's a goodun. No shaft in the way either which is a bonus.

No room from the LH side as the inlet droops down quite far.

Cheers.

new paint ?

Think he's referring to my newly painted bay lol Wasn't too scared actually

Underneath wasn't too bad but I can imagine it being an annoyance if you have a driveshaft to remove/engine grime everywhere.
