right, just got a new rad for my xe nova. right size, pipe conections are right, the lot. one problem. the fan sensor (large nut thing with 2 conections on it) is on the otherside, the opposite side to the gearbox and unfortunatly the loom. now, would it be ok to fit and plum the rad, but not connect the fan for a few days till i can work out how to get the conectors across??
any help and surgestions welcome, sorry if anything iv said sounds stupid, new at all this

Cant you just lenghen the wire to the connector to the other side so it fits?

I do plan to lengthen the wires, but won't have time untill the weekend n need to get to work and back at stupid o'clock in the morning, iv not got a clue what the old RAD was from but the new one is from a nova gsi. Was told that would be fine in terms of cooling.
Yes it will be fine for the cooling side but carnt understand why the wires are on the opposite side as all the novas rad switches are on the same side  .
I think the corsa rads are the same fitment but the fan switch is on the drivers side! May be worth checking its the right rad mate

Corsa rads the exact same mate apart from the mounting lugs as thats what im running switches are the same etc.

Well the rad was bought from a local parts place that iv used tonnes in the past n never had a problem with, it's the right diameters and that, same mounting lugs and hose joints so I guess it's a mystery. Any advice on best join to use other that soldering?? And what gauge wire I will need to get?? Cheers guys

I'd take it back as it's clearly not the correct rad. Why faff around when it's wrong?
Brand new Nova (GTE) rad made by Valeo from Northern radiators.co.uk £35 all in. And it's the correct one ;)

And that rad will have the nut on the right side (gearbox side)

Yes mate, I bought one (it's even in my project thread)
And that rad will have the nut on the right side (gearbox side)
The fan switch should be on the drivers side on a Nova or a Corsa

Lee H are you sure?? Mayb the bloke that did the conversion changed it for the rad he put in it then cos mine is passenger side, yet the nova rad it's on drivers. Iv had a fair few problems with the conversion mines had, would definatly be inclined to do it all myself next time ha. Cheers for the help though guys

The fan switch is always on the drivers side with Novas.
