oil cooler on an a c20xe engine or not ? i have slight upgrades on my xe that will go on my new xe engine i.e diff injectors power cap fuel pressure regulator apart from that its near enough standard opionons please, as this one has an oil cooer thats why im asking

imho, I wouldnt bother unless you are wringing its nuts off round a track all day.


Just use a decent oil and you are sorted

well its been used as a track car for years with no oil cooler and no issues, until the new engine was fitted and it hadnt been used much and it blew the bottom end on the track do they really do much the oil coolers?

My mk2 golf 16v turbo oil light used to come on all the time and the buzzer would sound too.The oil used to go to 105 degrees then i fitted a mocal 13 row cooler and hey presto the temp never went above 90 degrees and the light never came on.A worthwhile upgrade imo.:thumb:

if doing track days or driving it hard i'd fit it.
Dont want bottom end blowing out again.Play it safe.

it will be getting driven hard , i defo dont want it blowing again lol think am gona go down the road of fitting an oil cooler
