Preety sure its a cav/calibra rubber mount needed for the conversion so

its a cav it wont fit, you need a nova one on a corsa conversion

The one on the right looks like a Nova one?

The one on the right looks like a Nova one?

Me too.

the one on the right is correct, you need to grind the lips off the edges for it to fit sometimes.

The one on the right is a nova one, the studs are too close together by the looks.

Edit: From what ive read, if it runs a Chris astley mount, that needs a cav/cally mount.

/\ nope ive used astley ones, i bought a new nova one from him and had to grind the lips. it fitted fine after that

Ok, the one on the left is what is removed from the corsa and the one on the right is the new nova one I bought before checking as I didnt think twice about it.

The metal engine mount looks to be the cav/astra original and its been bodged with another mount bolted to the chassis leg, hence why im confused as to what mount I should be using, ive looked http://www.vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk/acatalog/Astra2_Engine_Mounts.html on there but can't find one that looks right, any ideas??

best thing to do is get a pic of the cars mount etc.

Id bet it being a cav mount though

That looks like a CAM mount anyway?

The chassis mount should be a plate that bolts onto the 4 holes, with a U shaped bit for the mount.

Steve

Yeah thats what its got, so thats a conversion mount as well? Thought it was a bodged up mount lol the new mount ive got physically fits in the u-shape until you try and line the thread up, what rubber mount do you reckon its using then? As that website I used doesn't seem to have it.

Cav/cally rubber. As the chris astley stuff uses, as i said earlier lol

The setup looks like this?:

Yeah thats what its got, I just figured bolting an engine mount on was a bit iffy. Why not just do like the novas conversion mounts and leave the factory chassis mount and make a new block mount around that..
I know you said its a cav/cally rubber but check out that site and see if you can see one on there!! lol

AlexW

Its due to the type 2 (which is like DOHC engines), the hole in the chassis for the mount is too low down the chassis.

And yeah i cant see mount on there, But they dont list everything so. Ebay?

Yeah i'll have to have a look, see if anyone wants to buy the new nova mount.

Cheers for your help matey :thumb:

You need a Mk2 Cav rubber.

Steve

Really, which one?

Im guessing the drivers side mount steve probabily similar to the nova one.

Steve

yes i know i need a drivers side mount, but what engine size cavalier? Ive looked all through the available ones and can't find one which looks the same.

1.8 or 2.0 Driver side mount from the mk2 cav. Nova mount is similar but not strong enough either. There are a few people selling them on ebay.
