Nova Sport Rep C20let Project

time has come for a new project after not finishing my last nova turbo build

i got hold of 2 red novas 1 which was at billing this year i was going to use that shell as my base for this build then my mate lyndon rang me up and he told me that he had another red mk1 nova which was the same spec as my red mk1 so he sent me some pics of it and i bought it its getting dropped off at me garage tomorrow and am starting to strip it down ready for the shell to be painted white

some spec of the car

its a 1986 Nova merit Dreg 1.2l Red it has not got a sunroof 1 old lady owner it has 28k on the clock some service history been garaged most the time

the shell of the car it self is in pritty good condition 1 little bit on the back arch at the bottom were it meets the sill but apart from that it spot on

.brown dash with brown radio blank

and a few other little things

just been to linchs this morning and got a Gsi tank and 2l turbo pump off him going to give it a good sand down as he painted the tank black and spray it silver again

am just keeping the red one a had at billing standard mate its in one of them carcoons in the garage now

a was thinking of a 1.3 on carbs but a want to do something differant to it a was thinking first about putting a C16xe turbo in it

That was it just on the road, infact ran the engine in heading down to silverstone (trax) my mate who came down with owns it now, took it on track went very well but suffered heat soak chargecooler was struggling!

This was it finished, few more better upgrades from the trax pic, pro alloy rad and intercooler, next stage up software, reyland 4 pots, front decals, if i had kept it the wheels would have been done blue same as cage ect.

Still going as it did (like a missile) to date, and looked after!

Liking the idea behind this build. Deffo do an inverse sport rep. Usual sport stuff but in Black. Will look the mutts nuts.

this nova wont be getting used as the project shell anymore i am going to use my 13k mile red nova that i had at billing as my project car people told me to leave it standard but at the end of the day its only a nova lol i will be putting pics up at the start of the thread to night so have a look at them and see if yous like it

I'm not being funny but I don't think it will ever get done.

Jumping from a 1.0 to a C20LET... why? If you want to die jump of the roof or something.

Plus its not as easy as you think, I regret it now and wish I kept my XE, chopping up front end on a Nova to fit all that extra **** looks crap too.

IMO a nice 1.6 with some mods is more than enough, if I had a mint shell the last thing I want to do with it is ruin all the seams with welds.

If not then C20XE is more than enough.

I agree about the XE thing, and I'm not sure what you have found that is wrong on this other car, but it cant be good to suddenly decide to ruin a 100% genuine un touched (modified) shell like the 1lt, i personally would keep it that way, or sell that one, as it's worth more IMO.

Sadly I agree with the comments on it never being finished! I hope you can prove us all wrong. I'd say you'd be better to just use this shell rather than starting and spoiling a nice clean tidy car. Sadly you've already done that with the blue one you didn't finish. Lets hope you don't do the same!!

This is just my opinion, BUT i personally think that the stupidly mint standard 1ltr is worth way way more then this, so it only makes sense to sell that and carry on ripping this one to bits and converting this one..

I'd sell the one in your garage mate and use the funds to buy an engine like the one out of pauls track car! Stick your one on the bay etc with a high reserve, everything to lose and nothing to gain by stripping that mint nova,

Sell the 13k Nova as standard, someone in Ireland is bound to buy it. Use the MK1 you've started tinkering with for the LET conversion, it's not like it's a shiiter.

That's a very wise choice chap

Nows a good time to work out exactly what you want it finish up with at the end of the build, plan it out, stick to what your doing, it will piss you off at some point but will be worth it in the end. :thumb:
