just been scaning all my old pics my dad took on the 1985 lomabrd rac rally and saw a few novas, also a couple of group b cars, Jimmy Mcrae, Berttie Fisher, Russel Brooks etc, i'll post a few pics and post the link to the full album.

i aws at this event, the tarmac section is the old rest and be thankfull road and the forrest is Achray forrest, the street rods were in canada in the late 70's and the rallycross was early 90's at knockhill.
oh and before anyone says about picture quality is was 1985!!!

no probs guys, vaughan the rest is a nice dril, was thinking about a good road trip next year driving round to dunoon, overnight hotel and ferry back to greenock the next day? more on that in the scotland section though in the future :)

all the pics I have are in the link mate, iirc the only astra gte on there is a mk2 8v in yellow with a blue bumper.

Andy google Arrochar on maps and the rest is just after it once you leave the lochside.

Vaughan the old road has been shut to the public for years, iirc it was used for a few events but not anymore,

this was the last event my dad went to before mcrae stages a couple years ago.
afterwards the first thing he said was meh, these new cars arnt very cool, i remember watching the audi quattros and the 205 turbos blah blah blah (insert old man ramble about the good old days).
said he wouldnt watch another event again as they were too boring now!!

i think some classic clubs still run up the rest every once in a while. saw some right old motors going up it a couple years ago. they had a banner for a classic car club but cant remember the name.
